About Assessments
There are two types of assessments given to students in this course: FORMATIVE and SUMMATIVE.
-
Formative Assessments are...Knowledge, Concept, and Skill Practice: at-home and in-class activities that are given feedback, but NOT graded. These assessments are meant to give the instructor and the student feedback regarding the student's efforts to meet the unit’s learning objectives and prepare for the Summative Assessment(s).
-
Summative Assessments are...The Unit Assessments: These are the student’s opportunity to demonstrate performance on the unit’s learning objectives in one or more of the Language A Assessment Criteria: Analyzing, Organizing, Producing Text, and Using Language.
